Dildo Or Dildon’t #13

The Nice ‘n’ Naughty Review

It’s been a little while since I just reviewed an ordinary sex toy shop for you all, rather than a specific toy or similar. This one caught my eye because it, like Popcorn.dating itself, has clearly put some real effort into being a multinational operation: prices are available in pounds, dollars and Euros alike, and they ship worldwide for seemingly reasonable prices.

So what else have they got going for them?

The Nice

I’ve had an extensive poke through the website and placed my first order with them, and there are certainly things to like about this place - even if their name is a little overly tacky.

  • Their range of plus-size clothing is genuinely both varied and extensive and includes plenty of their fetishwear. Much of it is out of stock at the time of writing, but I’m willing to assume that’s simply because so few places are as good at this as they are that these lines are in high demand!
  • I don’t know why they’ve decided to label all kink and BDSM as ‘bondage’, but the range itself is actually far more extensive than I expected it to be. A lot of it is a bit on the tacky side, but there are a few hidden gems.
  • Their range includes many of the old favourites and key standbys, including the Lelo Smart Wand recently reviewed by me in an earlier installment of the column.

The Naughty

Like I said, the name isn’t exactly my favourite thing in the world. There are also a few things in their range that make me roll my eyes a bit, vis:

  • What is this shit? Why is every sex toy shop in the world obsessed with this shit? WHO IS BUYING THIS SHIT?
  • There’s nothing in their impact play section that doesn’t look either flimsy or ineffective or both to my eye. This isn’t uncommon, though; most kink toys are aimed more at the Fifty Shades crowd than at the Fetish.com crowd, after all.
  • There are a few things in their anal play section that I’m not sure I’d recommend for anal use. I’ve written before about how important safety is when choosing toys for this kind of play, and I really wish retailers were better at sticking to those guidelines.

The Dear Abi Seal Of Approval

Their shipping took a little longer than LoveHoney’s generally does, but it wasn’t egregious. Everything was packaged adequately and discreetly, and there were no particular problems.

Overall I think I’ll give this one gets three out of five stars. It’s actually a perfectly solid little shop, but it’s not doing anything especially remarkable and it lacks the lovely inclusive and balanced edge of somewhere like SheVibe or Good Vibrations while also not being quite as fantastic an all-rounder as major competitor LoveHoney. They’re a bit tackier and more mainstream than I’m instinctively drawn to, but there’s nothing actually wrong with them as an establishment. Check them out for yourself.
